Our Prospective Students
Welcome to Overseas Family College. Our
mission is to educate global citizens
by offering a dynamic and comprehensive
two-year undergraduate program that prepares
students to transfer as third year students
to universities in North America and elsewhere
to complete their bachelor’s degrees. The college has a broad-based program that lays a solid foundation for students'
university studies and at the same time
allows them to explore a wide variety
of subjects before committing themselves
to a specific major.
We have worked closely with our partner
university, California
State University at Dominguez Hill (CSUDH), to develop a quality academic program
that pays particular attention to maturing students’ independence and self-learning abilities. The college is committed to student-centered learning that require a rigorous foundation in basic skills–such as writing, critical thinking, oral communication and mathematics–which are then applied and reinforced across a broad range of subjects. We strive for a combination of rigor and flexibility that both meets the individualized needs of our students and allows them to develop their particular abilities. Diversity and adaptability are fundamental qualities in a world moving too rapidly for predictability, and it is our task to prepare our students for that future.
The student body of the college is highly
diverse and international. Although our
program follows a U.S. model, our students
have also successfully transferred coursework done at OFC to some universities
in Australia, New Zealand and the U.K. Singapore’s strategic position in Southeast Asia and
its vibrant, international community where
the best of the east and west come together
combine to make it an ideal and safe place
in which to live and study.
